A Safe Place

God has a safe place for you. A place in His presence. A place where you can remain. A place where you can grow. A place where you can be free. A place where you can surrender. A place where you can be protected. A place where you can be empowered. A place where you can be renewed. This is the safest place.

Can we mirror that in our church, in our homes, at the workplace or perhaps starting with us? Can we be a safe place too? As I am one among many in the church, I ask myself this same question. How can I help to create that safe place? How can I help the various people that funnel through the church so that they sense a safe environment and safe fellowship? We cannot be the church that points the finger but we can be that church that points people to CHRIST!

On Christ the solid rock we stand, all other ground is sinking sand…

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:24-25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

These are the words we live by to usher and help people grow strong and a foundation in Christ! We point them in the right direction not pointing our fingers at what they have done. image

We must be mindful of what the entire message of the Bible is. For there is a redemptive message that is shown throughout the scriptures. Let us review looking at the book of Romans.

“As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.””
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:10-12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:22-24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:6-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬

We can not preach a diluted gospel! But the entire message …. And not just the wages of sin is death! BUT the entirety of this passage. There is a BUT! And that last word belongs to God and not man.

THERE IS A WAY OUT OF SIN!

THERE IS A WAY OF FREEDOM!

THERE IS A WAY OF NEW LIFE!

How can we help? But point the way. There needs to be a safe place where the broken can heal, where the addict can recover, where the adulterous can be restored, where the lustful can experience love and where the violent can be redeemed. If it happened for the one who wrote Romans, then it can happen for you.

People have been hurt by people! By life! By sin and stain. There has to be a change. It does exist. This is not an impossible thing.

The safe place can be found, especially when we reflect Christ in our lives. In a world that is running around rampant….there is no sin worse than the other. There is no sin that cannot be forgiven. There is no wrongdoing that cannot be corrected. Christ our REDEEMER! And we are His redeemed…. Oh what a safe place that is.

All things are possible, our safe place is possible.
