The Starbucks Environment

imageI think everyone likes that Starbucks environment. If you like coffee, casual talk and the sound of voices. People with books, laptops and headphones. Listening to choice tunes or that which is playing from the Starbucks speakers. It is pleasant and always seems like a getaway type of spot. The strong scent of coffee and the sound of the espresso machine in full force, that is ideal for the coffee lover like me.

I love coming to Starbucks! It’s my random way of a mini-escape. I know that will make sense to those in my mindset or the average college study bug at least.

I write here. I read here or just look out the window and reflect. As thoughts run rampant I try to bring them to a serene place, so an environment like this certainly helps. Environment is key so I keep myself reflecting upon His word. Abide daily! Inhabit a place! Create an environment so that you are in that place of His presence.

He won’t relent! I feel God chasing me! I won’t ever be alone like this. This is exactly what I need. My escape in God.

So what if God thought inhabiting in me was like a Starbucks environment? That’s sweet right?

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
‭‭John‬ ‭15:1-5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

But look how The Message translation breaks this word…

“Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭15:4‬ ‭MSG‬‬

How sweet that is! He says LIVE IN ME! He says make your home in Me just the same way we are a home for Him!!! God I know this is silly but am I brewing the best coffee up for You? Do I have the finest coffee beans and fruit for the Kingdom? Have I advanced from Folgers to Starbucks? From frivolity to strategically when it comes to Your things?

I know I become relentless when I want THIS coffee and THIS environment and so I can see that You are the same way about me! Wow! When I think my thoughts are rampant You are sifting through that overhead menu of mine. I will take the same… My favorite…. A Grande Soy Latte! So You will take this girl filled with letters…. Letters for You that create words; that create paragraphs; that create shared stories; that create testimonies; that create victories; that create the unique sound that I bring to You and share with the world!

This then becomes a great place for me to inhabit and I know that You are right here with me celebrating life! Celebrating espresso! Expressions of letters…. Writing for the Kingdom. Every word I exchange with You first.

We have a new Song of Songs in this place of mine, like a Starbucks environment so tranquil and sweet. Only You bring me to a place of serenity every time I stop in and talk to You! It is worth the price! I will take Starbucks any day over all! I am glad You found that type of home in me too.
