The Man-Date

imageI have been reflecting a lot about the Kingdom Generals mandate over the past few weeks and had this message impressed in my heart to share with our congregation. Which is yours?

“The MOMENT vs. MANDATE”

Dictionary.com defines MANDATE as the following: A command or authorization to act in a particular way on a public issue given by the electorate to its representative

We want to keep the momentum. What have we learned? What was it that really impacted us? What was imparted to us? What has changed us?

And so the MOMENT is defined as: An indefinitely short period of time; instant.

What stands out to me is SHORT! Quick! This is one instance or occasion.

Review of the first Mandate message given by Pastor Juan Mendez is broken down in the following:

You need to be M- MATURE in things of God; A- (remain) ANOINTED; N- (cannot) NEGOTIATE w/ this World; Then you will see and experience: D- DELIVERANCE; A- ACCELERATION in your calling; T- TRANSITION and E- EXPOSURE. There you have the MANDATE.

  • Maturity
  • Anointing
  • Never Negotiating
  • Deliverance
  • Acceleration
  • Transition
  • Exposure

This is all part of the process in our Christian walk. We keep on keeping on! God doesn’t always want you moving behind the scenes, there is a time for that. Or that you keep yourself in a place of isolation. YOU got something to give AT HAND AND AT LARGE!

The more you give the more you get. The more you say yes, the more you move ahead.

In the Parable of the Talents it discusses this teaching, calling and preparation.

“For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money. Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here I have made five talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here I have made two talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed,  so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.’ But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
Matthew 25:14-30  (ESV)

Here we discover what it means to be called by God and to be given a particular assignment. God has CALLED you! EVERYONE HAS A CALLING. Matthew 22:14 states, “Many are called/invited but few are chosen [Selected from several; preferred]”.

It is such a sacrifice to do all the things required of us and also recognize that there are natural responsibilities, such as home, kids, family, friends, work, etc. Yet Jesus said to a group seeking Him in Matthew 12, “Who are my mother and my brothers? These are my mother and brothers.” Jesus was referring to His disciples that were following Him.

This same way, God has entrusted you! He has requirements of you to fulfill, despite everything that is occurring in your circle of life. This calling doesn’t happen in a moment of time… it happens as part of a mandate. This happens by movement and a selected lifestyle that is now dedicated and determined to be set apart.

The moment that you decide to hit the gym and eat right happens as part of a commitment. In order to keep that look, then there is no decline in activity! Only increase and consistency. Same way with the spiritual things.

What do I do?
What are my tools?

We must mature by being rooted in ONE place to latch on to a vision and purpose. We can’t be all over the place. There has to be a place where you will remain planted so that you can mature. The Word says that a wise man built his house on the Rock NOT ROCKS! We know this is symbolic of Christ and Christ is symbolic of the church. So consistency is a HUGE key! This is the place for you to grow. To Study! To attain Fellowship! To Connect!

Discover the anointing over your life. It is not just for them but for all. YOU ARE ANOINTED! You have been entrusted and empowered.  Acts 1:8 says, “you shall be endued with power.” We should be LIKE Christ. SIMILAR functionality. “Christians” is not a religion…it is a relationship pulled into a place of INTIMACY!!! Christ [The anointed One and His anointing]. It should be evident that you are intimate with the Father.

Never negotiating – We backslide into places and we don’t even realize! That is a dangerous place to be when we are not aware of our behavior. We negotiate with the enemy. We negotiate with time; we negotiate with people, when WE DON’T HAVE THAT! Don’t negotiate because in the end it will cost you everything!

TIME IS IMPORTANT.

Complacency occurs by just ONE COMPROMISE AT A TIME!

What you can do is function in a deliverance ministry. That is what we were called for. Isaiah 61 declares, “Set the captives free!” And Matthew 10:8 says, “You SHALL heal the sick, cleanse the leper, raise the dead, cast out demons; for freely you have received, freely give!” WOW those are powerful acts that He is entrusting to us.

Acceleration God will move quickly through you. On the day of Pentecost… they received the baptism and then PETER STOOD UP! STAND UP AND PREACH! Why wait! BRING THE SOULS especially when that FIRE IS SITTING UPON YOU—that is the best time to do it! Like Acts 2, there is nothing like seeing, living and experiencing the sweet salvation of others!

Transition –  We know about transition; and this shall be in every aspect; every place should feel it…change is necessary and the evidence of that IS CHANGE! BE YE RENEWED!

Exposure – No more side line ministry, but public ministry. For what you do in private will always hit that public place. It is time for us to UNLEASH!!! Just like Saul and David; Eli and Samuel. That calling became EVIDENT!

So let’s cast the net like Peter did and start fishing on the sides where we least expect it to work! Let’s think outside the box and beyond the four walls of Christianity. We are not like others YES – so that we can scoop up ALL that the world and the church rejects! We should be accustomed to bring in cities because of the mandate! Reaching people encompasses all!

HAVE NO LIMITS!!!

We do not live for the moment, we live by a MANDATE!
