Michael Myers

imageThis one has definitely got to be called,
“Killing Michael Myers.”

In the late 1970s there was a film series that began called, “Halloween.” In these horror films, there was a primary antagonist by the name of Michael Myers who was extremely psychotic and resulted to massive violence. There were numerous killings in the event to seek out revenge on his sister based on situations that took place in their childhood.

The thing is that Michael Myers kept coming back to life! Thus, all the sequels. No matter how many times they tried to kill him, shoot him, hit him, pierce him or run for escape he would always resurrect somehow or someway! Their fighting and defense just wasn’t enough to take out this beast of a man with a vengeance. Always trying to come to the surface.
This morning while I was sharing during a Periscope broadcast about moving forward I brought up the case of Michael Myers as an example. We try pressing towards what God has for us and our current situation…then comes “Michael Myers” creeping up on us. I did find it humorous at first but then I thought of how much this really relates to us in the spirit realm.
We struggle so much in life because we never really get to the root and kill the “thing” that keeps trying to resurrect. The only thing that should resurrect in our life is the power and the presence of Jesus Christ! That is KEY! Not Michael Myers.

“Michael Myers” could be anything to you right now. Maybe it’s just the film. Maybe it’s an addiction. Maybe it’s an attitude that keeps rising up. Maybe it is a person that keeps popping up in your life that is no longer meant to be there. Maybe it’s past pain that keeps trying to come to the surface every time you start to progress. Maybe it’s an ailment. Maybe it’s depression. It could be anything of a struggle to you.

I don’t know who or what the “Michael Myers” of your life is but I can tell you this.. You can kill it for real!!! You don’t have to go through a part 2, 3, 4, or 5! There doesn’t have to be a sequel!!!! If you kill it right the first time it should never have to surface again!

In the story of David killing Goliath, it took him a stone and then a sword along with the Word of God to take down this behemoth of a man! Not only that but he had 4 more stones just in case [1 Samuel 17]. What does this tell us–we have to be MORE than prepared when things try to rise up or resurrect in our life.

When you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
Ephesians 4:21-24 (New International Version)

Gear up! Get a fierce friend to fight with you! Get help, counseling, encouragement….whatever you need to take down your Goliath or Michael! 🙂 That way you progress for real. You really don’t have to be bogged down with the same old battles. There is a way to live this life victoriously. These are just keys to help. Make it happen. This is your time for a true and lasting breakthrough! In order to break something–the hits need to be strong!

There was a man all alone;
he had neither son nor brother.
There was no end to his toil,
yet his eyes were not content with his wealth.
“For whom am I toiling,” he asked,
“and why am I depriving myself of enjoyment?”
This too is meaningless—a miserable business!
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken
Ecclesiastes 4:8-12 (New International Version)
