Blessings to all that are viewing this. My name is Christina Cruz-Mendez. I am a Senior Pastor at Mission United International Church in Yonkers, NY working along side my husband Juan A. Mendez Jr. Senior Pastor, currently residing in Canton, Georgia. We have been together for 29 years with 2 children that God has blessed us with. Makes us the family of four - "JusChrist4". I have been a Christian and active in ministry for about 22 years now. Through all the rocky and smooth roads in life I am eternally grateful that God has brought me this far in life to share with the world what He is doing in me, through me and for me.

Quitting Complacency

You know the more I think about this the more I think the one thing I’m quitting at is to do better. I feel like I’m quitting at the potential that I know I have in me is built for more.

Does that make sense???

Why do I feel like I keep resulting to settle?

I settled with this weight!

I settled with this job!

I settled with the place where I’m at in ministry!

I’m settling in life for what everyone else wants me to do first and never consider my own needs!

Like aren’t we important too? I know we have this die to self emphasis as Christians and I do that… but when will I die to complacency? What about die to settle? Refuse to sink? Refuse to living with all these insecurities and doubts when I have potential??

“What a shame it would be for the enemy to believe more about our potential than we do.”

Holley Gerth, Fiercehearted 21 Day Devotional

I don’t want to keep doubting myself. This feels awful! I know there is more and I know if I am continuously grieving over my situation then I know that I have an option to change it!

Why am I settling???

I’m not a quitter! But there’s one thing I wanna quit…. COMPLACENCY! There is so much more! If it can happen for others surely it can happen for me too. I’m gonna be a little more intentional about moving forward in faith to do BETTER! To enjoy my days. To enjoy the work that I do daily. To enjoy my health. To enjoy the relationships that I have around me. There is so much more!

This is definitely on my prayer list! Maybe yours too?

Lord, help us break past this spirit of sluggishness and disbelief! Let us QUIT COMPLACENCY immediately and make aggressive steps at better days!

As Bishop Noel Jones preached, “There is something that is going to happen that will negate what you are dealing with right now!”

There’s more! There’s HOPE! Apart from that, I have to quit at what keeps me complacent!

The Word:

“The pain that you’ve been feeling, can’t compare to the joy that’s coming.” Romans 8:18.

“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Shower Us

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
Luke 6:38

God wants to shower us! He wants us excited! As we give and sow seeds for what is to come we are going to reap a harvest that is pressed down, shaken together and running over us.  Everything He has can be available to us according to our faith. We believe God and we wait for it. Surely it will happen.

This morning I was impressed in prayer to believe God for building property.  That surely it is ours to come.  A place of fellowship that can be solely dedicated to Him.  I see a bright and beautiful alter. Musicians there with their equipment already set up. An amazing wooden pulpit ready for the notes to unleash.  I see lights all around and a message as you open the door for MUI Church.  Just like you see on Pinterest. I am pinning it in my mind! I am preparing. The same way there are baby showers to receive an abundance of gifts because the baby is going to arrive–that is the same way we will do for our buildings.

Our buildings will have study shops like Starbucks. A place where people can come, study and fellowship.  There will be bookstores and other shops.  There will be intimate prayer rooms. There will be offices for the huge staff that will be dedicated to MUI.  There will be a large sanctuary with layers…bottom floor, mid floor and upper floor. There will be nurseries and classrooms for the kids, youth and adult ministries. Beautiful carpeting all around the rooms except in the halls. Flat screens all around with notes and inspirational material.

Why wait until it happens to get the stuff.  If He is going to shower us then we need to have a building shower. We are preparing for the “baby” so let’s plan the shower this year for building ownership! I’M REGISTERED TO HIS PRECIOUS PROMISES WHICH ARE YES & AMEN!

I see it–feel it–and am expectant!

Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you.”
Matthew 9:29

Beyond The Limits

Dear God,

Help me to reach and press beyond the limitations of MYSELF and my own way of doing things.  Help me to break routine, habits and patterns that are not allowing me to grow and go where I need to.  Your design for me has always been for more.  I see it on the tablet of Your heart which is Your Living Word. I know these inner frustrations and turmoils that are rising up within me are only because I am sticking within my own limitations when I know that there is more.  I know that I can be more and do more.  Help me to reach beyond the limits…because on my own I am going to remain the same.  AND I WANT OUT!!!!

Sincerely,

Chrizzy! Your Daughter.

“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.”
Isaiah 54:2

I woke up this morning fast, frustrated, fierce! If I am going to do anything that way, I need a way better plan than what I have and what I know I can create.  Another day passes by in a rush and we are already only ten days in! I have to do something different and stick with it.  I’m just finding myself always tired and I feel like there is just not enough time.

Posted by “Facts” on Twitter today I see–“Never be afraid to try something NEW because life gets boring when you stay within the limits of what you already knew.”

True that!!! I don’t want to remain the same but I’m the same.  I don’t want to stay within but I am within.  I don’t want to be comfortable but I am comfortable–I need my sleep.  I need my rest.  I need my work to get done and the bills to be paid. But I need to be way more creative going 42 years in now approaching the 43rd year!!!! Come on now!

LORD –ENLARGE THE PLACE OF MY TENT –STRETCH THE CURTAINS WIDE AND DON’T HOLD BACK!  RAISE THE STAKES! LET ME LIVE THE RISK-TAKING – WATER WALKING PETER LIFESTYLE THAT YOU CALLED ME INTO!!!

I’m not willing to settle–and that is why the frustration rises!!!! Let’s go!!!

Until We Get There

“And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.”
Hebrews 6:15

And so…. no matter what we try to do we still have to wait. We wait in traffic, on lines… We wait for results….we wait for the days to pass for special events.  Or for some of us we wait for huge things. Well until we get there what do we actually do right?

I feel like I am always rushing most days. No matter how many books or teachings I hear on this I am always rushing for things to move in its right place.  I told myself this morning….”RELAX, Christina —you don’t always have to rush.”  Until we get there I can do a lot of other things to help me ease the wait.

I can imagine that many of us are waiting for huge things such as a spouse, children, a property purchase, a business or ministry to launch, a great new work position, for the weight to come off or even a change in existing relationships or things.

There we go waiting again.  Every day is a wait.  But every day there is something happening.  Just like Abraham waited for his promise and got his, so did others.

So in the course of time Hannah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying, “Because I asked the Lord for him.”
1 Samuel 1:20

So after waiting patiently and in the course of time we will get to experience the suddenly and the immediately.  Your promise has arrived. What you asked for, you got.  What you have been believing God for, is here.  Your prayer request has been granted.  The door has finally been opened for you and it is your time to emerge.

Until we get there we need to trust God.  Until we get there we need to believe that His precious promises are YES and AMEN.  Until we get there we should prepare anyway for the day to arrive with the answer.  So that way–when the suddenly and immediately happens we are more than well equipped.

Prayer:
Dear God –thank you for being the owner of our days.  Thank you for making all things beautiful in its time just as Your Word declares.  We know that there is a time for everything and I pray today that until we get to our destination that you give us a heart of peace.  I pray that we will continue in joy, love and harmony through out each day.  May we stop rushing our day and special time to arrive.  Let us find ways to appreciate and overflow with abundant gratitude for what You have given us while we are waiting. There is nothing like having such a relationship with You that we would have never known without the days like this.  This course You have ordained for us is settled and it is perfect.  I trust You in that– so when my destination is clear I can be well adapt and equipped for what You promised. Amen and amen…

With Love,

Christina
