Down The Dumps

imageSometimes we can wake and don’t want the day to start just yet. We can find ourselves reflecting, searching for words, moments, sweet things, something wonderful, peaceful, special and joyful. We go back to that dimmed place in our head and the memory is  faded. But there is still some recollection of colors, sound, words, thoughts and even feelings. We can often become nostalgic, then move the thoughts to something else. All these things missed, yet left to be forgotten and a part of a forbidden past called death. A Source For Others

“But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail. And when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

It is almost as if he had to go through that denial in his walk in order to really understand the depth of God’s word. He told Peter, “YOU WILL DENY ME three times.”

How deep is that, and what a complete inner condemnation and conviction one could feel. Not when they have messed up once in life but repeatedly. Not once, not twice but THREE times! Yet this was a place for Peter that in this breakdown he would reach an ultimate build up for himself. What a way to bounce back from a failure. This is where he would have a true repentant heart that said to God, “YES, now I will feed Your sheep because I know.” Continue reading


Hurricanes

imageReporters in the news are saying that three years ago Hurricane Sandy really shook us up here in New York City and even beyond that. I remember that time really well. Power outages, a boat load of rain and business closings. We couldn’t even go to work. We stood home protected as we were all plugged into the TV watching the news for moment to moment updates. It was really frightening to even go outside because the winds and rain were so heavy. I am so thankful that season is over, even though we have to be on guard for any other storms that could arrive. We learn how to prepare and move through those inevitable catastrophic events. It just happens. Continue reading
