I will run the course of Your commandments,
For You shall enlarge my heart.
Psalm 119:32
Let us keep to run the race that each of us are presented with in life. On our journey through life and in our walk with God.
We don’t want to be delayed, so let us keep running the course.
To run specifies some vigorous activity, acceleration and assurance.
The Israelite’s stalled reaching the promised land due to unbelief, inactivity, and an unsatisfied heart.
Activity is critical! WE MUST STAY ACTIVE in the things of God! If we are idle, we are never going to grow or flourish the way God has determined for us. We can very well slow down our outcome when we are taken off course with inactivity.
Acceleration is inevitable! God is in the process of taking us from glory to glory. And as long as we stay active, we will see that acceleration happens more and more.
Assurance is necessary! We must be fully convinced, fully persuaded and fully faithful in all that God has promised us. We have to believe that His plan will unfold, that in our activity we are going to be effective and that acceleration will be the driver to catapult us into our destiny!
Do you not know that those who RUN in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that YOU may OBTAIN it!
1 Corinthians 9:24
The bible here is showing us that we should run in such a way that we will obtain the prize. There are lots of runners in a race, but not everyone is going to get a prize. Some will come in first, second and third place. Others will at least have crossed the finish line. Whatever the result is for you–you can have the BEST dependent upon what you gave during your run!
The definition of run is to go quickly by moving the legs more rapidly than at a walk and in such a manner that for an instant in each step all or both feet are off the ground. It is to move with haste and to act quickly.
We have to move from being a spectator
And strive to become a participator!
We can make this happen. We can be ignited. We can start the fire from within and get moving to the place where there is evidence of our calling. We need to have residue of our work. We need substance! And none of that will be seen if we keep ourselves idle and stagnant.
YOU CAN DO IT!
Where do I start? What do I do? Where do I go? When does this happen?
From the moment you open your eyes, you can begin the plan that He has. Speak words of life! Don’t speak doubt over yourself. Don’t settle with a complacent spirit. Shake it off with your speech! Talk to yourself. Encourage yourself and get around others that speak life too! Anything contrary to that, shut it down and do not entertain it.
Begin by reading…His words! Start from Genesis to Revelation. Or go through the New Testament from Matthew to Revelation. Start with the poetic books: Psalms, Proverbs or Song of Songs. Start using teaching tools. Download the bible app. Read daily. Buy a devotional with it. Become educated. Join a class!
PRAY! Talk to God! Go to a prayer meeting. Join a prayer line. There are so many avenues available where there is prayer offered up.
WORK! Talk to your pastor and tell them… “I am ready to learn and work in any area that you need me.” That can be a variety of things. You can help feed the homeless, coordinate events, serve the people, usher them in the building with a smile. There is so much to do that will never go unseen! Find what will satisfy your spirit for this time and watch God accelerate you to more.
If you need help! Then ask for that too. Easy days are great, but difficult days are the WORST! Don’t go through all of that alone. Reach out…and quickly! Don’t let negativity take root in you! Act fast! Fellowship is essential. It helps you to open up and release the things you struggle with. Remember we all go through it!
Finally, just trust God. Don’t grow discouraged. He is working, even if you feel like you don’t see it. Progress is at hand! He is leading you down this course, because He knows you are more than capable to RUN through it!
He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:29-31
