Staircase

image I’m standing at the staircase… I see the only way is up. Why am I just standing there? God wants me to go up, my family wants me to go up and those that love me want to see my climb higher. There are a lot of steps, curves and angles.  It is tiring. No one understands. I once stood in a place where I thought I was higher, stronger, and the biggest conqueror of all. Until I landed flat on my face. God showed me and told me, “Its not about you climbing up the steps, but now its time for you to climb down from the place that YOU took yourself to! I didn’t tell you to go there nor did I lead you there but it was your own way that took you until I stepped in! I had to rescue you and stop you from going any higher into a place that was only disastrous for you!” imageThank God for His saving grace! He loves us so much! He wants us to climb down so that HE can take us higher.  The way that may seem right to us has an end that leads to death. A staircase is a flight of stairs with its framework, banisters, etc., or a series of such flights.  Isn’t that how life is? A series of flights indeed! We go from one place to the next. From high to low and from low to high until we realize we aren’t really going anywhere until we surrender all to GOD!  No matter what framework is set, God comes and destroys all that could destroy us.  He wants to keep us.  He has a plan for our life. Surely His plan is better, for as the bible declares in Isaiah 55:9, “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”  No matter what we try to do, His ways are higher and better! That is why I stand at the staircase.  I haven’t climbed up until everything in me has completely climbed down.  Until all of it comes down…  All my hopes, all my dreams, all my fears, all my tears, all my love, all my plans and all my desires. Until all of me becomes what God has as my destiny.  I will climb into the place God has for me, with faith, with hope, with strength, with love and with all that He places inside of me that is pure and without reproach.  All this then becomes His faith and hope, His strength moving in me, His love in me and His plans for me.  This way I will walk in perfect peace. I am learning that I don’t have to run up the stairs, I don’t have to leap, I don’t even have to go two by two, or how anyone else expects me to go. I will go at my pace alone and with the the pace that God sets for me.  No matter how long I stand there I know He is guiding me and teaching me on timing.  My walk through this new framework will be by faith.  God will be the one guiding me through prayer.  He will be the one that will never leave my side or forsake me as He promised through His unfailing Word. Standing at the staircase, I have a new hope rising up on the inside of me that this is going to be an exceptional way.  It is going to be the best way.  I will not be afraid.  I will walk into the unknown by saying yes to God and no to my own plans. This is a whole new me and I am embracing this life by faith in God. God will also show you to embrace what He has for you as well.  Stand at your own staircase, analyze and see where you are in life.  If there is something that caused a major setback or a disappointment for your life, try coming back down and starting all over again.  God is one that has second, third and several opportunities for you. His mercy is endless. As long as we surrender all to Him, He will ensure that we will do it the right way.

Psalm 103:11-18
For as the heavens are high above the earth,

So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
As a father pities his children,
So the Lord pities those who fear Him.
For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust.
As for man, his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
For the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
And its place remembers it no more.
But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children,
To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.

Remember that our steps are ordered by the Lord.  Always seek Him everyday so that you know you are walking correctly and accurately.  When you do that surely, you will be in perfect peace and confident to proceed up the staircase orchestrated by God.
