Joy Inexpressible

IMG_7301A happiness at my own expense is just not going to cut it. The happiness I must seek is one given to me by God. The joy inexpressible He speaks of that is found in God’s living word! I found it in Him. During those summer days by the ocean, as He carried me from a dark place into one of freedom, victory and new life.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith–the salvation of your souls.
1 Peter 1:6-9

What is a joy inexpressible? Especially when we experience a heavy fluctuation of mood swings dependent upon our emotional status from day to day.

Joy is the emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying; elation; a source of delight; a state of happiness or felicity.

Inexpressible is not expressible; incapable of being uttered or described in words. In other words–not really having a reason or meaning to a thing.

For you know that even with having our emotions we cannot allow that to govern our every move. They can’t control us. We need to function by something more substantial and concrete. But what God is showing us here is that He wants to give us THIS emotion called joy… where we have no words to express the source of it BUT God… So that it is not found from a natural explained source. But that it is found in a supernatural realm with God.

Truth be told, I experience that joy inexpressible when I am in my place of prayer. I experience joy inexpressible while I am listening to my worship music… these days I am loving Toma Tu Lugar, with Marcos Brunet; Citipointe Live; Hillsong United Empires & always I find myself dwelling on Bethel Live. I also experience that joy inexpressible when I am writing. That is a healing for me as an individual practice that I do regularly.

I experience joy inexpressible when I find God speaking to me through various times and various ways! He just always finds a way to get my attention. I find a joy inexpressible when He points me to that PERFECT place in the Word…that PERFECT quote or PERFECT book… He leads me to that place beyond me asking for all of that. He has a hold on my life. That is why I know I cannot have some other joy apart from the one God gives me. All else is just so temporary for me and I cannot allow those things that are temporary to destroy me!

I speak to myself, encourage myself and continue to hold off on all those things that can be chaotic to my entire being. This is how we conquer. It starts in the mind, impacting the soul and moving our spirit. How can I KEEP this joy inexpressible?

Simply!

By allowing GOD TO KEEP ME and to keep allowing HIM to be the source of it all. For all the 100+ blogs I have written up to this point are centered on a Christ-foundation.

Renew
Restore
Rebuild

That is the only place where we find that source that is beyond anything else we could express. There is NO GOING BACK! Only moving ahead. All this as part of a renewal process, restoration and rebuilding that needs to take place for a better YOU!  For if you are ever going back, let it be for something good as the word reminds us in Philippians 4:8, “to meditate on the things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, good report, any virtue or anything PRAISE worthy.”  We don’t go back to what is destructive, dangerous or detrimental. That is your answer. That is your focus.

“For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor!”
Galatians 2:18

Anything apart from the will of God will only lead to disaster. Everything else is just going to impact our inner peace and a joy. So just when you think perhaps THIS may give you happiness… think again. In order to obtain the joy then you need to avoid the toy or thing that keeps you bound! For ANYTHING that tries to dampen or attack that place of pure holy happiness must be cut off and cut out.

Our joy inexpressible will always be at the expense of His Word!
Nothing else or nothing less than that.

In His Name. ❤
