Colors of Faith, Hope, Love

imageAnd now these three remain:
Faith, Hope and Love.
But the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13

We must discover that more and more in doing “SOMETHING” that it matters.

Oh! It matters! It really does. It makes a difference.

There are colors of faith, hope and of love.

New discoveries;

New things;

New life;

God is for us.

We live and we learn.

Teach us to love again.

Teach us to love more. Continue reading

BE STRONGER

imageAfter the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.
Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you?
Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:1-9

Parkview and a Pen

imageSaturday morning.
Rainy and solo.
It’s Parkview and a pen.
Pancakes and cappuccino.
Pleasantly humid from the rain.
Morning jazz music with the sound of muffled voices.
This is pretty cool for me.
I take this time to read, write and reflect.
It’s perfect!

Psalm 3:3
But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
My glory, the One who lifts my head high.

We are never alone. In crowds, in courtships, even in conversations we may feel alone. Drifted from the “noise” but trying to keep grounded. These are the very moments that we can identify with scripture. He is all around me like a shield. It feels perfect. This is the way it should be. I am protected in His presence and peace. Lay Aside

imageThis scripture of Hebrews 12:1-2 has deeply resonated within me. I was reading my “Savor Daily Devotional” by Shauna Niequist and she used this scripture to begin the April 13th entry titled “What You’re Willing to Give Up.”

I would think first of course the things we most struggle with. Things that the bible clearly tells us to be “rid of” but not first thinking of the things that are actually good and still count as a hindrance of some sort.

These are the “sinful” array of things…
The bible lists a few out of Ephesians and in Galatians.

“Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.”
Ephesians 4:30-32

The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:19-21
