Staircase

image I’m standing at the staircase… I see the only way is up. Why am I just standing there? God wants me to go up, my family wants me to go up and those that love me want to see my climb higher. There are a lot of steps, curves and angles.  It is tiring. No one understands. I once stood in a place where I thought I was higher, stronger, and the biggest conqueror of all. Until I landed flat on my face. God showed me and told me, “Its not about you climbing up the steps, but now its time for you to climb down from the place that YOU took yourself to! I didn’t tell you to go there nor did I lead you there but it was your own way that took you until I stepped in! I had to rescue you and stop you from going any higher into a place that was only disastrous for you!” Continue reading

A Life of Worship

imageSunday~ Our Most Precious Day of Worship.
How important is worship that it is mentioned in the bible 8,629 times {Bible Gateway}.   To worship is to show reverent honor and homage paid to God or a sacred personage, or to any object regarded as sacred.  We do this for those that we love such as family or other important relationships.  Perhaps even towards things that we love, we show worship towards. However the Word of God teaches us to worship the King of kings and the Lord of lords.  It teaches us to worship God first and have no other gods before Him as stated in the ten commandments in Exodus Chapter 20.  Worship is an act, it is a choice, it is a behavior that we show towards others.  Worship should be a regular part of a Christian lifestyle.

Worship is something we can even practice during trying times that will allow us to walk in peace and harmony as the bible states in Ephesians 5:19, “Sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, making music to the Lord in your heart.”  We must choose to worship.  A lifestyle of worship.  To make songs among each other and to make music within our hearts.   Continue reading

Make Frequent Stops

imageTRUCK MAKES FREQUENT STOPS
I was driving behind this truck with a good friend in my car and took a moment to snap this photo.  I said, “This will be a great title for my next blog!” If I have to have patience to drive behind this big truck blocking my beautiful view that could be quite frustrating.  Then I quickly thought, “if the truck needs to be make frequent stops, shouldn’t we?” Certainly we should.  For even the Word declares in Genesis 2:1-2, “Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.  By the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing ; so on the seventh day He rested from all His work.”    If God took the seventh day to rest then in the beginning of time, that is probably a good indicator that it is also necessary for us as humans to stop frequently and take a rest as well.

We get so busy in life with full-time jobs, relationships, parenting, social networking, exercising, and so many more activities.  Even as Christians we need to take time daily for prayer, regular worship, study of the bible, church attendance, activities and fellowship.  This kind of consistent business, even though it is good for us, requires us to rest.   Sometimes it may even mean that we don’t answer the frequent phone calls, text messages and perhaps even a disconnect from social media so that we give our minds and hearts a break from life.  Is that a bad thing to just take a moment and stop engaging yourself in every activity under the sun?   Continue reading

Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus

Jesus and his disciples went to Jericho. And as they were leaving, they were followed by a large crowd. A blind beggar by the name of Bartimaeus son of Timaeus was sitting beside the road. When he heard that it was Jesus from Nazareth, he shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!” Many people told the man to stop, but he shouted even louder, “Son of David, have pity on me!” Jesus stopped and said, “Call him over!” They called out to the blind man and said, “Don’t be afraid! Come on! He is calling for you.” The man threw off his coat as he jumped up and ran to Jesus. Jesus asked, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man answered, “Master, I want to see!” Jesus told him, “You may go. Your eyes are healed because of your faith.” Right away the man could see, and he went down the road with Jesus.

Don’t you want to go down the road with Jesus? Don’t you want to be that person that finally sees the light at the end of the dark tunnel?   Continue reading
