Let It Be

let-it-beIn order for me to survive I have to do these five things:

  • Trust
  • Dwell
  • Feed
  • Delight
  • Commit

These are 5 major elements for survival.  They are found in Psalm 37:3-5, “Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the lord, Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.”   Continue reading

Learning to Embrace

embraceI am learning to embrace the One who embraced me. He loved us first. The bible tells us this in 1 John 4:19, “We love because He first loved us.”  With that love God has embraced us, despite our shortcomings, failures and flaws.  He knew all of that in advance and loved us all the more.  He will never let us go.  He will never lose sight of us.  He will always pursue us, even if we try to run or detour.  He knocked Saul off a horse as he was heading to Damascus for a plea to slay more Christians in Acts Chapter 9.  That changed the life of Saul completely. It was then that Saul felt the embrace of God.  So much so that he lives a zealous life for God and becoming one of the greatest Apostles ever known. Continue reading

Camouflage

camouflage-warrior-semmick-photoStop Camouflaging Your Pain! Despite all the colors, distractions and beating around the bush, when you look into the eye you see that pain is still present with you. Pain has a name too.  It is called physical suffering or distress, as due to injury, illness; a distressing sensation in a particular part of the body; mental or emotional suffering or torment.  As Christians we cannot ever really confess that we are in pain.  We have to hide it.  We must declare “All is well” when it is not really well. We can speak, yell and cry out but what is happening on the inside of us really?  Does that even count?  Why doesn’t anyone ever talk about it?  Where is my real story in the bible?  I don’t see it.  The story where hope dies, faith dies, love dies, dreams die, plans die and your heart is not really healed at all because of the frequency.   Continue reading

The Soul Cries Out

FullSizeRender“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for though art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4

I was running through the fields today and stopped to take a picture of my long journey with no one there.  I was not afraid of my surroundings.  I knew God was with me.  I was enjoying the sunlight, sound, solitude and serenity. Yet in all of this I always feel this heaviness pressed upon my heart where my soul just cries out.  I begin to feel this absence where no one else can fill but him.  The tears sting my eyes and I feel all my soul shake at the hollowness that was left there.  I ask “Why do I still feel this, Lord.  Can’t you just take it away.”  But even in that I know the answer already.  It is always going to remain there.  That place will only be filled by God now and forever.  That is the place that was taken so that He could remind me of everything else I tried to do to fill it.  It is not meant for anything or anyone else to fill but Him.   Continue reading
