I look back and reflect on these lives. Those so near and dear to me. As I enter into the 24th year of a union, I think of where it started, where we are and where we are going. In every season of life that we went through, we are still thriving. It hasn’t been an easy run but certainly one worth living. I thought, “Would I do it all again?” Certainly not. For who could do all of that—it is too much. But I do know that God will be God and that is our story worth sharing. We have the same ground but yes, we are evolving. We are moving from glory to glory. It is still our story. We savor the good moments and sift out the bad. We embrace the heat along with the cold. We know it makes us stronger, steadier and submissive always to the higher purpose. He is going to do that work in us, through us and for us. Continue reading

You Know What It’s Like
Since He himself has gone through suffering and testing,
He is able to help us when we are being tested.
Hebrews 2:18 NLT
It is a common road for us all. Even Jesus was the black sheep, so He knows what it’s like. In Isaiah 53, we read a heavy description of what He faced. As we press through the pages of scripture, we can familiarize ourselves with this and identify such pain, sorrow and grief. We identify ourself through the Word. Not just Him identifying Himself with us, but we can now identify with HIM and grasp that He really knows what it is like to be US! Continue reading

Is that how life is for us? Uncertain about the future? Impossible situations? Constant struggles? Wars over addiction?
We know what we are going to get, when we choose right. We have all the tools in the world, all the guidance and an opportunity set before us to walk in the ways of the Word so we have abundant living.

Happy Valentine’s Day
I didn’t get chocolates because life isn’t like that.
I didn’t get a stuffed animal or any other bear.
I didn’t get a bracelet or some fine jewelry.
I didn’t get a car or something that elaborate.
No candies that are hearts or even silly cards.
But what I did get I planned to do, something that I would enjoy. Something different, I took a chance at, what was definitely not the norm.
I loved it. He loved it. We all loved it.
