Where Does She Go Wrong?

imageHow are her thoughts?

She wakes up…

Perhaps alone, perhaps together, perhaps even with some sort of stranger. What value does she have? For if the thoughts were that she was so much more, then she would never be in a place where she went wrong.

What completes her? What competes with her? That seems to be have a strong weight over her. Moments, money, make up or maintenance. Oh the work that it takes! Where did she go wrong?

Can this ever be fixed? Can this ever be corrected or ever done the right way?

Yes! It can get better. She can because she believed that she could!

She believed in her God!

That was Rahab… That was Mary. That was the Samaritan woman by the well. That was the woman with the issue of blood. That was you and that was me. It was every woman who thought they needed to be validated. Yet never expected that validation to bring them such violation! It is every woman that needs to be loved, embraced and noted that she matters.

God’s got more for you. So much better. True value and virtue. You could know it.

Bold power and glorious majesty are wrapped around her as she laughs with joy over the latter days.
Proverbs 31:25 The Passion Translation

There are many valiant and noble ones, but you have ascended above them all! Charm can be misleading and beauty is vain and so quickly fades, but this virtuous woman lives in wonder, awe, and fear of the Lord. She will be praised throughout eternity. So go ahead and give her the credit that is due, for she has become a radiant woman and all her loving works of righteousness deserve to be admired at the gateways of every city!
Proverbs 31:29-31 The Passion Translation

This is such a dynamic translation of our often quoted Proverbs 31 passage… charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. For it is not the charm or beauty that makes us, it is actually the fear and reverence that we have for God. For there are many that are devaluing themselves on social networks, images of themselves through “smart phones” or the way that they “dress for success” just to get approval and recognition. They allow themselves to receive temporary satisfaction against eternal salvation.

If you want respect then you must have respect for yourself. We can’t allow “life” to tear us down and dictate our future. It should not govern our every move. What God thinks and says should be what governs our every move. That goes above any other validation that we would expect.

Where did she go wrong? At least she made it right now. 🙂 Like Rahab was tested as God sent her two more men. This time instead of taking from her, she gave to them by protecting their lives. God then honored her and spared her family from harm. Later we learn that Rahab was no longer a prostitute but became a virtuous wife and mother of Boaz. A fine and respectful gentleman he turned out to be. Boaz married Ruth and it is a foreshadow of Christ on the power of redemption.

Two wrongs never make something right. God takes the wrong and turns it around for His glory. It doesn’t have to be this way. There is hope. There is life. There is value, yes even in a broken and abused vessel. Change starts with you. It happens when you see the value that God sees in you. Don’t cast what is holy to the dogs Woman! Don’t settle for less when God has His best in mind for you. You deserve a real love, respect and honor.

God gives that to you freely. Your value will not be determined by any man but by the Son of Man who died on the cross in order to give you a new life the right way. Stand strong and valiantly as a woman of virtue. You ARE that Proverbs 31 woman indeed. That is why God wrote it even before you were born. Just when we think all else could be wrong, God had a plan for us to get back who we are since the beginning of time.

Made in the image of God. ❤

Very powerful, also wanted to comment on yesterday’s sermon. You brang a very powerful point in your sermon; on when you gave up everything it made your husband travel nations. That is a very powerful point, that speaks for itself, Rahab gave it up and you see the genealogy of Christ. The Lords voice you can hear it, me and my wife are very grateful to call you our pastor.

Wow for the glory of God. As difficult that things can be sometimes I just want to give God all that I got … flawed and all…it all goes to God
Thank you for the true encouragement. It really is uplifting when things appear to “not go over well” I know that God does the work in us. Very thankful
