A Little Rain Never Hurt Anybody

committSpring has arrived and we are springing forward in life. Yet in all of this we will experience some “rain” in our lives. It may feel bad, look bad and cause us to shut in but this is GOOD for us because it allows us to replenish. So take the time within, during this rain to cover yourselves with the umbrella of God’s love and seek His strength.  We go through so many instances and occurrences in our lives and we hope for a better day and hope for some “spring” in our lives.  We long for some hope, some light or some release.  We have experience here in New York such a long winter waiting for spring to arrive.  Now the date indicates that spring is here but it sure doesn’t feel or look like it at all.  We know it is here but the cold of winter does not want to let up and it keeps trying to drag it’s way into our blooming season of spring.  And so the trials of life that we experience seem to be that same way, don’t they?   What should we do?

COMMIT TO HIM! Commit to a loving and compassionate God!

What are we committed to these days? What are our priorities? Are they really bringing us closer to God? I asked myself this question when I walked back in my therapist’s office tattered and torn in the month of January! He said to me, “Why are you here?” I said to him during a heap of tears…”I ….want….to….change…” and I wept! He advised me to set goals for myself and these 3 I cannot forget,
1) LETTING GO
2) RESTORATION
3) IDENTITY
Those are the 3 things that I set aside for myself to grow at during this process of mines. This is a long and difficult journey I must add but I am ready to embark on it. “Identifying what you commit to will enable you to make decisions based on that commitment rather than your emotions!! You’ll face MANY obstacles, but you can get there! Commitment is one of the major tools you’ll need” by Gary & Mona Shriver.

What are your goals?

Try adding this one… COMMIT TO GOD. As the verse tells us in Proverbs 16:3 “Commit to God WHATEVER you do and your plans WILL SUCCEED!” So this day, commit to Him ALL so that you can truly then see a different type of outpouring in your life where you will experience success.  You will find yourself in a place where you don’t feel the rain and weight of life’s problems but you experience a different type of rain in your life, such as a rain of JOY, a rain of PEACE and a rain of God’s presence. Those things will come to us when we are committing in the right way. Remember the messages you hear and learn.  There are for your growth and learning. This past weekend of 4/18/15 we heard a powerful message given by Kemtal Glasgow at the Acquire the Fire BattleCry event.   The “Even If” statement from the story of Daniel Chapter 3 with the three Hebrew young men.  Even if I have to suffer…even if I lose some friends along the way, even if this is going to be VERY hard for me. I just know that at the end of the day –God’s got my back…God’s got it all.

Keep in mind that the rain in our lives is necessary.  The same way the rain is pouring out to spring up our grass and flowers, the rain in our lives will also spring up a health and wellness for us all.  So in reality…a little rain doesn’t hurt anybody.  🙂
