Relationship With The King

facedown-2I don’t understand how people can be non- responsive in the presence of the Lord.

As for me, there are so many times that I just want to fall down, cry, scream, shout, yell, sing, run, dance, preach and sometimes even laugh for the joy inexpressible.

There is nothing better for me than being in the atmosphere of the Lord. He is everywhere. He is present at all times.

I am there in the midst of a powerful worship service and I can feel Him reading my heart like no other. He is whispering things to me. Good things. Favorable things.

“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, He will sit on His glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.  He will put the sheep on His right and the goats on His left. Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’” Matthew 25:31-36

This verse speaks to how the human relationship is with serving others but we can also see how Jesus used Himself first as an example to describe our service to Him as well. When do we make that time for God? When do we invite Him in our lives or visit Him intimately through a separated time of devotion. I can be in the midst of such amazing and strong atmospheres of worship and feel a manifested presence of God. I immediately react. I respond. If I just sat there, I listen or I silently pray. I am always doing something to reflect upon the beauty of His holiness…

“Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” Psalm 29:2

It is a gift to be able to worship the Lord. To be able to express our love and emotions. stages-of-a-relationshipTo express our thoughts. To express all our anguish or frustration. To give to God all that we are experiencing and stand up feeling whole. There is nothing more glorious than being in His midst. It is unforgettable. It is undeniable. It is incomparable. It is inexpressible.  What could be as fascinating as His nearness, His closeness, and His tangible presence in our lives? Nothing else matters at that moment. It is just you and a God that is matchless. A God that is able to fill you up beyond capacity. So that you are overflowing with His love.

There is something so profound and powerful that occurs when we worship our God. I surrender everything to Him at that moment. I say ‘Yes’ again. For whatever He wants me to do. For whatever He requires of me. I say it all over again until I am completely emptied of everything that tries to resist or hinder this relationship that I have with the King. All other worries flee. Thoughts become clear and concise. New strength is obtained in these moments. A fresh peace washes over my soul. I stand content. I am able to move forward. I can breathe again.

I don’t care who is around me. I don’t care who is watching me. I don’t care about any problems. I don’t stop myself from giving my all to Him because He is in fact the one relationship that matters most. He is The King of kings and the Lord of lords. To worship our Lord in the midst of mess is the most liberating experience when you give your all.
