A Man Like This

Matters of the Woman’s Heart…

Sometimes we make mistakes, not sure what else to do…especially when it comes to relationships.

Many women struggle in this area. They have been hurt by men…even starting from the first one that was supposed to be the primary example.

We go all in with our heart…only to break it. Then everything dies…our hope, faith, trust and most importantly, our LOVE!

We don’t know how to respond, so we close up.

One thing I know is that there are good men of God out there. As a married woman of God at the age of 40 I may not have had all the experience in the world but I can share some things with you…HE EXISTS!

You don’t need to be abused any longer.

You don’t need to be abandoned any longer.

You don’t need to be betrayed any longer.

You don’t need to be devalued or talked down to any longer.

You don’t need to be deceived any longer.

You don’t need to be hurt any longer.

You don’t need to be used any longer.

You don’t need to be disrespected in any way, shape or form any longer!

TRUST GOD… NOT YOUR HEART… and wait. For He will bring the one to you.

I had such an amazing and liberating discussion recently. It is like all my life I wanted someone else to say it…then the words spilled out.

“I walked down the aisle a SECOND time and still UNSURE. When I finally realized that this wasn’t about the love we think of. My first time I married because I loved him! This time I married because HE LOVED ME and that was worth it. IT is not about me loving …but about HIM loving me. That is how I knew it was going to be a good life for me. That I would LEARN TO LOVE this man that God gave me.”

This is a lasting love… the one that is learned and practiced…not the one that is “felt”. It is not about the butterflies in the tummy or the one that makes you blush…but it is about the one who will RESPECT YOU!

HE WILL HONOR YOU!

HE WILL EXALT YOU!

HE WILL PROVIDE FOR YOU!

HE WILL TAKE SPECIAL CARE FOR YOU!

HE WILL CATER TO YOUR NEEDS!

HE WILL ENJOY YOU… YES JUST YOU!

HE WILL BUILD YOU UP!

HE WILL MOTIVATE YOU IN A GOOD WAY!

HE WILL APPRECIATE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU!

HE WILL BE PATIENT WITH YOU!

HE WILL SUPPORT YOU IN EVERY WHICH WAY!

HE WILL BRING THE BEST OUT OF YOU!

That is the one that you need! Not the one by feelings…for all that comes and goes!

But the one that does all of that…is THE one from God, for he is only fulfilling the scriptures.

And here he goes, outlined like this…

“Husbands, go all out in your love for your wives, exactly as Christ did for the church—a love marked by giving, not getting. Christ’s love makes the church whole. His words evoke her beauty. Everything he does and says is designed to bring the best out of her, dressing her in dazzling white silk, radiant with holiness. And that is how husbands ought to love their wives. They’re really doing themselves a favor—since they’re already “one” in marriage. No one abuses his own body, does he? No, he feeds and pampers it. That’s how Christ treats us, the church, since we are part of his body. And this is why a man leaves father and mother and cherishes his wife. No longer two, they become “one flesh.” This is a huge mystery, and I don’t pretend to understand it all. What is clearest to me is the way Christ treats the church. And this provides a good picture of how each husband is to treat his wife, loving himself in loving her, and how each wife is to honor her husband.”

I can share with you one thing…there is a man that went all out of his way for me on earth. That is the one that placed this ring on my finger. He demonstrated a Christ-like love for me and I appreciate that in every way. Hearing so many horror stories and even been through some myself. I can say that I have a man of God in my life. I am thankful. For even when you may not have been the best–he was still the best and the best for me.

Isn’t that exactly how it is written in Ephesians 5 above? I would say surely it is. Husbands must love their wives JUST as Christ loves the church.

What is love?

God is love. God demonstrated that to us. In that while we were still sinners He died for the ungodly [Romans 5:6]. I may be repetitive in some of my writings only because these are the words that I hold so near and dear to myself. I hang onto those powerful words! Because no matter what I have done–HE STILL LOVES ME!

That is the point of it all. That is the man we need in our lives ladies! This is a dedication for that woman that still may be waiting. He exists. Christ is that first man and will be the one also to lead you to the man like this! Don’t ever stop believing. It is not based on a feeling…but based on the actions of character and integrity that are all outlined throughout the scriptures.
