The storms of life are going to come. It is a part of life. We have our sunny days, rainy days, cold days, hot days, foggy days, windy days and our stormy days! It is a fluctuating cycle!
It’s getting through them that’s the worst part. Or sometimes you feel like you’re alone but you’re actually not because Jesus is right there in the boat. When you think He is sleeping at any point in time that you call to Him, He always gets up and calms the storm!!!
On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”
Mark 4:35-41
Jesus cares! And He is going to get up and wake in your situation. Not only that but He is going to change that situation around. What looks like an impossible situation is always a possible situation to God and He loves working in these types of situations!!!
He makes the impossible POSSIBLE!
He makes the immovable MOVABLE!
He makes the incapable CAPABLE!
People want you to EARN IT but God just wants you to RECEIVE IT. And freely by GRACE!
People ask, “Where are the credentials?”
“Where is the long hair?”
“Where is the skirt or the three piece suit?”
“How did they come this far?” God says… THIS IS IT!
ALL YOU NEED IS THE POWER IN ME!
THAT POWER IN CHRIST WAS MORE WAY BACK THEN
AND IT IS MORE NOW!
The scribes and pharisees were highly educated in the law, looked down upon the disciples because they were UNEDUCATED men!
With all their degrees, they were NOT BEING USED the way the FISHERS OF MEN were. The scribes and pharisees were fully educated and never did in years what Peter was able to do in one night being filled with the power of the Holy Ghost!
Jesus picked men catching fish… they smelled! They were dirty! They were not scholars but God was not interested in their A plus background, He was interested in their availability!
God is not interested in any of those external or acquired things.
You wanna know what I did? I said YES. THAT’S ALL!
Every time He asked me, I said yes!
I said YES to Him.
YES to church.
YES to pray.
YES to read.
YES to write.
YES to teach.
YES to ministry.
That’s all I did was say yes and He kept on adding. In the middle of stormy days or sunny days. He saw the one little talent I had and that I was not going to take it and dig it in the ground. So He said I can work with that!
Did I think that I could say yes to Him?
NO.
Did I think that I could be in church?
NO.
Did I think I was fit for ministry?
NO.
Did I think that I can pray?
NO.
Did I that I think that I can read and understand the Scriptures?
NO.
Did I think that I had the time?
NO.
Did I think that I could write well?
NO.
Did I think that I can teach?
Oh heck NO!
But God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called! So tell that person wondering all about you… don’t sleep on me, because Jesus is in my boat! Thank God that He awakes to the sound of a heart in desperate need. That is us when we go through the storms and chaotic moments of life. It looks bleak during MANY times but God still intervenes and gives us such a sweet victory!
There is so much more to come! Great and awesome things await! Don’t sleep on me! God’s got me!
