NO GPS

Have you ever had to take off somewhere because of a necessary appointment or place to be and had an idea of where you were going but still had to continue with NO GPS?!?

Just keep going straight.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭32:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It is an eerie and uncomfortable feeling to travel to a place and not have specific instructions or a guide. We always want specifics and that we could have. Yet sometimes in our journey with the Lord, the call to the place is the one thing that is clear and everything else in between [the detail] is just not really provided.

In traveling, a road trip from NY to Virginia is straight down Interstate 95 South. But to be sure to get to the exact place in Virginia the precise detail is necessary. In this particular case, none of our GPS gadgets were cooperating with us, to the point that we agreed to proceed without the GPS!

We just knew to go straight!

That is CERTAINLY how God works a lot of times in our lives. We don’t really have all the detail but we KNOW TO GO! We know to do. We know to say or respond. We know to start making moves. For to stay idle is never going to get us to our destination. We have to start out by moving. And as we keep reaching ahead, we experience the milestones or progression where things will become more clear and fall right into the correct place.

We cannot be an idle person!

“Laziness casts one into a deep sleep, And an idle person will suffer hunger.” Proverbs‬ ‭19:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It is great to have all that detail and direction along the way, yet sometimes we just don’t have that. That is when our trust is put to the test. Where instinct becomes ignited. Where our obedience becomes our opportunity.

Imagine how Abram must have felt all nestled into his comfort zone only to be completed stripped to embark to the “land of nothing.” It was the only direction he got from God.

Get up and go!

“The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran. He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Harran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there. Abram traveled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him. From there he went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord. Then Abram set out and continued toward the Negev.” Genesis‬ ‭12:1-9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

All Abram knew was that God was going to use him to build a nation. He didn’t have a map, blueprints, flags or a compass! He just had a calling to go. That was what he responded to.

The Call.

How difficult and even unsettling tht could be for us sometimes. Because where he was going he had to give up his wife. Where he was going he had to part from his other family member Lot. Where he was going he was not going to get there easy. There was going to be a lot of pit stops for him all along the way.

Pits stops consume time! Especially when you don’t want any further delay to get to your destination. But every time you have that pit stop, God continues to position you and BLESS YOU!

Because of your obedience!

When you respond to the commands of God you are sure to be blessed along the way. He will make all the provisions. He will count the costs. He will keep you covered throughout it all.

Just keep moving ahead.

Eventually as your obedience is being tested, God gives that increase. God gives that insight. God gives that assurance that you are going to be MORE THAN OKAY!

After proceeding straight, making a few calls and downloading a better application we were able to find our way to VA! And what a sweet reward. We had an immaculate suite. We had amazing fellowship and laughter. We met new beautiful people. And we got to have an amazing worship experience at a 10th year anniversary conference with DWD Ministry. What an unforgettable moment for us all. Certainly worth the trip. Sure we didn’t have the detail, we didn’t have everything work out in our favor. But when we experienced God’s favor, it was better than anything we could have done for ourselves.

When you have no GPS, it teaches you to be sharp. You gain a lot of experience and insight during your journey that becomes very valuable to the individual. Our life lessons learned are very intimate that we have with God. He shows us, you may not have all the detail just yet, but you do have my Spirit that will guide you through every step and it shall never end in failure.

He promises to take us to a flourishing finish! So proceed straight ahead. If God called you then God’s got you!

“There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.” Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Worry not my friend. When we have no GPS, we have God’s Perfect Satellite!
