Knowing Nothing

imageI came home from listening to the dynamics of a leadership conference held by Apostle Femi Adun and felt such a conviction deep within my spirit. I immediately said to myself, “I know NOTHING!” WOW!

The Word of the Lord came to me, saying,
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
Before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
“Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.” BUT the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You MUST go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.
Then the Lord reached out His hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “I have put My words in your mouth. See, TODAY I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”
Jeremiah 1:4-10

What I have acquired over years time is nothing compared to the depth of what this man of God shared to our team as it relates to leadership. I know I have been to school, graduated from high school, studied in two colleges and received a Bachelors degree in the concentration of liberal arts and communication. I have acquired two years of bible institute knowledge. I have taken leadership and development courses. I have studied the many components of Human Resources within the secular business environment for 15 years. This encompasses technology, systems, compensation, payroll, benefits, training, web development, professional development and the like. In all of that… in 2 hours of hearing THIS man of God… I felt like Jeremiah the prophet sitting in that pew with a calling.

I thought… I know nothing!

Lord teach me again the true dynamics of what leadership entails. Teach me about excellence of character. Teach me how I can have a continuous and expanding capacity. Teach me how to work effectively within relationships. Teach me how to teach, how to mentor, how to instruct and give excellent guidance. Lord teach me to be courageous, committed and have a passion that is unquenchable!

And I know that I know…I was not the only one shifting through those thoughts. It is called reception!  Reception of the common goal and assignment over US as a body of Christ!

Unlearn… Relearn… Learn NEW things

I want the URL that this man was talking about… I knew that I needed it. That WE as a body of Christ all desired and needed this. We were sitting in those pews with desperation, hunger, zeal and such an urgency within our spirits. It is not enough… I believe we all left overwhelmed with such knowledge. Just like the psalmist wrote.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is too high, I cannot attain to it.
Psalm 139:6

I could barely sleep last night, enriched with the word of the Lord on my heart, mind, soul and spirit. I was beyond overwhelmed. It was too much. Then I prayed. Today I will continue to ponder on the life of Jeremiah. For yes I thought, “WOW, where do I start AGAIN?”  “Am I that far off?”

NO! Just keep on the journey and begin that acceleration. Everyday is an opportunity to learn new things… self education is possible with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and all the resources He has made available to us. We WILL be more effective and not waste time.

Just like Jeremiah felt inadequate, unprepared and unfit…God reaffirmed the promise. He placed assurance on this calling. He appointed Jeremiah as a prophet. He declared His word over his life. Declare is to make KNOWN or to state clearly, so that it cancels out the doubt. Especially in explicit or formal terms; to announce OFFICIALLY; proclaim; to state emphatically (with emphasis or substance); to manifest; reveal; show; to make due statement of, especially goods for duty…

God will make it known when we feel like we DON’T know! That is God! That is what He did with Jeremiah and what He will do with us. He says, “Do not be afraid” because He knows fear will be present. He declares over us His presence and rescue! We can basically rely on God EVERY SINGLE TIME in our calling!!! In our walk! IN the fire! In the circumstance! In the position! In the role! In every situation… He will be present…so that we come to KNOW that all we ever need to recognize is that it IS HIM doing the work in us, through us and FOR us.

What we don’t know… GOD IS IT!
That’s good enough for me.
I am at PERFECT peace.

Sincerely,

An Ambassador for Christ…
