Let It Snow!

imageJust three days away til Christmas and it is raining. Vacation begins and I have these beautiful comfy moments all to myself. Instead of the cold weather, it is still pleasant. Not that I am complaining but we are just getting rain here in NY. At this time of the year it should be snowing! It is pretty! Not so much to drive in but some weather raining down on us is actually quite lovely. Lord, I may be the first to shout it from the rooftops!

LET IT SNOW!

Praise the LordPraise the Lord from the heavens;
Praise Him in the heights! Praise Him, all His angels;
Praise Him, all His hosts! Praise Him, sun and moon;
Praise Him, all you stars of light!
Praise Him, you heavens of heavens,
And you waters above the heavens!
Let them praise the name of the Lord,
For He commanded and they were created.
He also established them forever and ever;
He made a decree which shall not pass away.
Praise the Lord from the earth,
You great sea creatures and all the depths;
Fire and hail, snow and clouds;
Stormy wind, fulfilling His word;
Psalm 148:1-8

Wikipedia states the following:

Snow is precipitation in the form of flakes of crystalline water ice that falls from clouds. Since snow is composed of small ice particles, it is a granular material. It has an open and therefore soft, white, and fluffy structure, unless subjected to external pressure. Snowflakes come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Types that fall in the form of a ball due to melting and refreezing, rather than a flake, are hail, ice pellets or snow grains.

The process of precipitating snow is called snowfall. Snowfall tends to form within regions of upward movement of air around a type of low-pressure system known as an extratropical cyclone. Snow can fall poleward of these systems’ associated warm fronts and within their comma head precipitation patterns (called such due to the comma-like shape of the cloud and precipitation pattern around the poleward and west sides of extratropical cyclones).

I think we have gone through various pressure systems in life as well. And in those things we become the most visible and profound testimonies. What a time to reflect in all that has passed through this year. We are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us [Romans 8:37].

As the cold weather varies… changes from rain to flakes to hail to ice… That is how we change, yet never losing our identify of who we are. Like snow, all of that is just beginning from H2O.

When I think of my plans, my thoughts and my ways of where I was going, that was never the answer. Eventually I would have been completely shipwrecked. Change of plans!

God did that, God is doing that and making us better day by day. Healing helps as we go through that pressure. Now your flourishing. No one wants to stay wounded–not even have the scar but that’s the part that is testimonial.  It didn’t kill you, didn’t crush you, didn’t take you out from seeking God.

Here you are this day…your mind is intact. Peace is provided. Joy is restored. Serenity and wholeness is present.  To know that God fills every crack and crevice when we just draw near to Him. It is never ending. His love is so immense.

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the LIFE of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that His life may also be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.
2 Corinthians 4:7-12

So no matter how much pressure you face–you are just going from glory to glory. God is taking you from rain to snow to hail to ice… all these forms to reveal who you really are throughout it all! Still keeping that strong identity, holding firm onto the faith and leaning on the love of God as your support. And during these times as you pass through that pressure EACH moment you will find that God is refreshing your soul.

Like the cold of snow in time of harvest is a faithful messenger to those who send him, for he refreshes the soul of his masters.
Proverbs 25:13

In all of this, we get to experience the pure purpose of God.

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
Isaiah 55:10-11

Dear Lord,

As we go through the various stages of life, good times and rough… take us through the fire, take us through the rain, take us through the hail, the snow and the icy moments. We know that we are KEPT by Your saving strength. We know we are kept by Your mercy and grace. And we know that none of these things will remove us from the very purpose in which You have for us to THRIVE  in. Lord… LET IT SNOW!
Because we can smile right through it all.

Amen and amen.
