Second Best

Second Best…

Being first always counts.
First bloom. First born.
First steps.
First date.
First kiss.
First love.
First car.
First home.
First is foremost, it is what impacts us.

It set’s a stamp and seal that …. THIS matters.

Then there is the second best.

Life’s storms, mistakes, frustrations, waits, worries and even some tragedies.
It is the what if…. What if this doesn’t really count? Does this life of mine even matter?
This can be so disheartening, but with God we are never second best…

We are His FIRST CHOICE every time.

“We love because He first loved us.”

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of His who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”

“Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life.”

You don’t want to be number two… You want to be number one. Let’s face it! We all strive for that internally or externally in one form or another.

You want to matter. You want to make a difference and be the difference. You want to look the best, act the best, do the best …all so that we are not second best. Because being second sucks! That’s real talk. Sorry for the raw talk. I am not trying to be offensive, just real.

The greatest thing you can come to realize is that with God… You were NEVER second best! You were always FIRST CHOICE!
You always mattered. You are important. You have value. You are a TREASURE to God. And He holds to His treasure.

So much so…. He gave treasure in exchange for treasure.
He gave His only Son in exchange for you.
That second best concept becomes demolished!

“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? He always takes the last, the leftovers, the trash, the broken, the torn, the outcast, the black sheep, the sinner, the imperfect, the stranger, the loner, the weak, the needy, the forgotten and the neglected ….
And HE MAKES THEM FIRST!!!!

If you are that person that always felt left out, left over, left behind or left second, just know that God is never going to be the one to do that with you. Don’t keep your head down because of what you been through or who has treated you unfairly. Don’t torture yourself anymore.

“I’m not good enough, thin enough, pretty enough, smart enough, strong enough, worth enough….”

Enough of all those enoughs!

Pick yourself up, hold your head up high and take the rightful identity that God assigned to you as a royal priesthood!!! You are His darling daughter. You are His selected son. You are a child of God.

You are important!
You are precious!
You are His special treasure…and never going to be second best for God but FIRST PLACE!!!!!

That’s golden. No more settling for seconds. You are number one!
