Welcome June! We are about a half of a year in already.
Where are we with our calling?
What have we done for the kingdom?
Have we advanced up to this point?
Or have we decided to take a “sit back” on the things of God?
I am sure little Jeremiah wanted to take a seat on the ardent call he received over his life. He was a real case, with real questions and concerns.
But I am not ready…..
If God says it, then ready or not, here we go!
“The word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” “Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.” But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord. Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “I have put my words in your mouth. See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.””
Jeremiah 1:4-10 NIV
You may ask, “What is the Jeremiah calling?”
The Jeremiah calling is a specific appointment to the office gift of a prophet of the five-fold ministry. For most times God will personally call you. In this part of history in the bible, God was informing Jeremiah of his specific calling here. Most in this prophetic calling usually have an intercessory gift as well. This is a good indication that you may be in this office.
“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
Ephesians 4:11-13 NIV
In this passage it can be easily misinterpreted as all of us called to this.
There are few recorded as ANOINTED in the womb:
▪️Jeremiah
▪️John the Baptist
▪️Jesus
The purpose of this study is responding to YOUR individual calling, walking in His presence and direct obedience to your call!!
What has God assigned to you? How do you know?
Well…. He will either use you for this or He will use people with the Jeremiah calling to HELP people like YOU and me…
To uproot and tear down,
to destroy and overthrow,
to build and to plant!
God pulls those former things out of us, tears down the walls we built, destroys the things that could destroy us, then He builds and plants us right where we need to be effective! Where we can FLOURISH! Rest assured, that is God’s plan!
“There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.”
Philippians 1:6 MSG
More to come this month on the Jeremiah calling! Stay tuned…
