Change The Paradigm

img_3706“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

“The evidence of change is CHANGE!”
Noel Clark

Last night we were in the sanctuary listening to the teaching from our CFO that spoke on Transformational Groups! How powerful that message was.

Most importantly we were broken up into two groups where we were able to exercise our level of understanding based on the teaching.  We were challenged to provide our own analytical thought on culture and values.

One thing that our group really honed in on, was the fact that character was so important and how we always have to strive to change and produce a better character.

I shared some of the notes that I took during a leadership and management conference that I attended last week in the city. From the moment I walked in the man was talking about the positive versus negative attitude. He asked us to think about the qualities that we would say define a leader.

The thing is that as everyone started spitting out these words most of them fell into the category of attitude. Some things on skill and some definitions in knowledge but the majority went into the category of attitude.

Attitude is everything. I do not want to forget what I learned during this class. And I do not want to forget what God is showing me about my own character that needs constant change. So when we had the opportunity within our group to talk about what we think our culture is defined as within MUI… we all spoke of character.

I said, “Why don’t we say that we want to be a culture of change. Let that be out first take at creating a better culture of change here. A culture of transformation and transparency.”

One of the participants at the conference had expressed a concern when someone else isn’t willing to change what he should do… The instructor said to him, “You can either do one of two things… You can either remove yourself from that environment or you can actually create your own culture there.”

Sometimes I think that we continue to go through the same thing over and over again because we still haven’t learned how to change our behavior and our reactions to these types of situations.

Why do we go through the same things and the same types of trials? We ask ourselves — “Why am I in this place once again???”

Because we haven’t changed from this type of situation.

We were in a car accident right before Thanksgiving. Then after Thanksgiving we were in a seven car collision. Then –on that very same evening we were in a two car collision. I was like, “God what are you trying to point out here from all these collisions?”

With all the crashing that’s happening externally the inside is intact. It is protected and it is safe. So with all the car crashes that happened just within one week. No one in the cars were injured. NO ONE! God protected the things that were inside. And He wants us to protect the things that are inside as well. That will happen when we begin to change how we respond and react to situations.

We have to learn how to be still in God! It is there that He will always keep us and protect us. Every time we try to do things in our own stubborn way we always get it wrong. We have to do things God’s way and wait on God’s timing, not our own.

If He said it’s going to happen then we need to trust that it is going to happen.

Many times we still don’t have the better things because we are not ready for what God wants to give us. We must CHANGE!

We must create our own culture!

We must create a way to be that DIFFERENT BREED of people!

Great leaders always change the paradigm!

If I don’t see that change happening in other people then I have to make sure that change happens within me!!!

I have to set the bar high for change and transformation! I don’t want the same thing over and over and over again. Especially when God called us to go from glory to glory!

That’s my promise!
