Blessings to all that are viewing this. My name is Christina Cruz-Mendez. I am a Senior Pastor at Mission United International Church in Yonkers, NY working along side my husband Juan A. Mendez Jr. Senior Pastor, currently residing in Canton, Georgia. We have been together for 29 years with 2 children that God has blessed us with. Makes us the family of four - "JusChrist4". I have been a Christian and active in ministry for about 22 years now. Through all the rocky and smooth roads in life I am eternally grateful that God has brought me this far in life to share with the world what He is doing in me, through me and for me.

Blah Day

IMG_7409Definitely not a day at the beach, buzzing boardwalk, active bike riding or smooth sailing experience. There are no beautiful sunrises and sunsets at the doctor’s office! The blah day it is. Going to make the most of this as I wait to be seen.

Got to make the best of it, with some bible based reflections. There is a time for everything, now this forces me to rest when I have been running around rampant on our vacation days.

We come back more tired from the days we have off as we try to cram everything into the few days that we have off.

Take time to take better care of yourself.

If no one else will do it for you, make it happen for yourself. Continue reading

Selfish Sight

imageI looked and all I could do was selfishly take in the sight. I didn’t think of the past, I thought about my present, I thought about my purpose and I thought about His presence in my life. That is what mattered to me most at that moment. Perception and perspective of God’s very presence. Who was He to me? How much did I walk beside Him, even when I thought I wasn’t as close, I found myself actually closer!!!

I’m aware.

I can see Him in this.

I can feel Him all around me no matter what was going on. Moses must have had that same conversation like that repeatedly. Continue reading

When Words Won’t Work

imageI stare at a blank space sometimes, searching for words and trying to even build a sentence becomes the most challenging task.
I am a woman of words!
So many…. So if my words escape me, I am at a loss. I need to speak, need to share and I need to release some words to adequately describe my current place.

But I have to take that necessary pause, process and think… What do I want to say, how will I say it or is it even necessary?

Backspace.
Delete.

Maybe saying NOTHING is best!

I know that no matter how I feel or think, this expression is still not going to yield anything good FOR ME first that is, so there comes the pause again.

Let me take this advice best,
“Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive.”
Proverbs 17:28 NKJV

For My Daddy

imageToday was a powerful memorial service.  I didn’t get to write this week or on papi’s day because I did have a lot of things on my mind. Work life balance is seriously necessary now in my life. So the words to express during an intimate time like this had to come spontaneously straight from the heart.

I started with this verse. I think it is best to describe the daddy concept I had of Mr. Carlos Cruz, Jr. 61 years of life he had.

I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other. One thing that my big bro Creatan said today that was very impactful was that he would not compromise who he was for anyone. And so he would say the same to anyone. He would find a way to speak something positive in the midst of any situation.
John 15:11-17 NKJV
