Like a Box of Chocolates

imageLife! Is it like a box of chocolates? When you never know what you are going to get?

Is that how life is for us? Uncertain about the future? Impossible situations? Constant struggles? Wars over addiction?

We know what we are going to get, when we choose right. We have all the tools in the world, all the guidance and an opportunity set before us to walk in the ways of the Word so we have abundant living.

If you see on the top of the box, there is a chart to describe each chocolate, an assortment to choose from and another layer underneath when you run out! That’s probably the best way to describe the choices set before us…

That’s life! You’re not walking in blindly. It is mapped out. There’s a way that is good and the way that is off course. Continue reading

Happy Valentine’s Day

imageI didn’t get chocolates because life isn’t like that.

I didn’t get a stuffed animal or any other bear.

I didn’t get a bracelet or some fine jewelry.

I didn’t get a car or something that elaborate.

No candies that are hearts or even silly cards.

But what I did get I planned to do, something that I would enjoy. Something different, I took a chance at, what was definitely not the norm.

I loved it. He loved it. We all loved it.

“Just as water reflects the face, so one human heart reflects another.”
Proverbs 27:19

Have I lost my flavor?

Have you lost your flavor?

Makes me think so much. As we approach an arctic blast for NYC, how often we approach those in life. It’s not easy being in it. Because it gets pretty cold sometimes, I tell you!

Jesus said to his climbing companions, “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.”

Heart Like Mine

imageA day closer to our sweet “Valentines Day”. This is my inspiration.
This is what moves me. The precious Word of God that I love.

Then I write.

On a buzzing holiday for many, this could go as a love/hate season. We get to thinking, planning and more loving right? There’s a heart like mine, that wants to spend more time with God.

In our self-evaluation, we discover more of who we are. I even got a new bible close to me now. I carry it every day no matter how bulky it is in my bag.

I had to pull the older bible of the 2012/13/14 days of my life. Notes that have not escaped. I challenged myself in every way. I thought so much, that my heart was warped, crooked and producing only evil. I thought it was so deceitful, vulnerable and susceptible to continuous fail.

This heart of mine, who could know it but an all-powerful God?

That was me then and this is me now. Continue reading
