The Shunammite

imageIn 2 Kings 4 there is a Shunammite Woman who doesn’t have the greatest story of all time. She is the “All is well” kind of gal. The one that didn’t want to get her hopes up. For she already had the notion if she had her hopes up—that it would die. I think many people are in a similar case as this woman. They don’t want to believe. They don’t want to have expectations that will never be met. They are the ones that have little to nothing. The ones that really have the strongest stories ever. Continue reading

Down The Dumps

imageSometimes we can wake and don’t want the day to start just yet. We can find ourselves reflecting, searching for words, moments, sweet things, something wonderful, peaceful, special and joyful. We go back to that dimmed place in our head and the memory is  faded. But there is still some recollection of colors, sound, words, thoughts and even feelings. We can often become nostalgic, then move the thoughts to something else. All these things missed, yet left to be forgotten and a part of a forbidden past called death. All The Do’s and Don’ts

imageWouldn’t it be nice if we had a sign like this on us to advise certain folks in our lives. But ours would read something like this:

“DO NO USE!
I AM OUT OF SERVICE!
God is aware of my situation and making the necessary repairs and I will be available as soon as possible. We are so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”

As the bible shares with us not to conform to the things of this world, since we have come over to Christ we are in a process of renewal. And there are plenty of “do’s and don’ts” to help us succeed in this effort. Continue reading
