Graduation Party

graduation_hats_in_airIt is graduation season! A lot of people (children, teenagers, young adults and some elders) have graduated from school.  Some are completely done and others are simply going to the next level or another school to continue pursing their education in a particular area. For me – this is graduation season as well! I feel like I graduated from pity school to party school. A place to embrace the festivities. For this was certainly not the best start for a 2015 “new and exciting year”.   Continue reading

Emmanuel, God With Us

GodWithUsWith such gratitude in my heart
I’m here to thank You for all You are
You’ve been faithful all my days
In every season You remain

I will enter Your gates with thanksgiving
Lord I run into Your arms
My lips will sing of Your goodness
For Your love illuminates my heart
My lips will lavish praise upon You
For You are Emmanuel, God with us

Emmanuel, Whom shall I fear
For You are always near
Emmanuel, I will praise You all my days
Lord I hunger and I crave

I Have A Partner

partnership-woesI have a partner! Isn’t that amazing.  I am not alone. A lie keeps repeating in my head that I have to cancel out so often and remind myself that I have a permanent partner in life that is never going to leave me or forsake me. We are in this together. But God was right about one thing mainly (as He is always correct)… He wanted to remind me that I didn’t have to look anymore…that I didn’t have to search…that I didn’t have to try so hard but that it was truly a time for REST in my life! I just needed the right partner. PUSH PAST PAIN

pastpainJohn 16:33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation [grievous trouble; severe trial or suffering]; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

At first I hurt myself, then I kept going. 18 stations in total and I felt pain at the first one. At each station you will have 50 seconds of work and 30 seconds of rest before switching to the next. Warm up was hard. I felt like my heart was beating out of my chest.  It hurt but I kept on running behind the rest. I stood at my own pace, I didn’t try to outrun anyone. I met the trainer at the stop and he gave us all a high five as we went in to the rooms to then start the intense cardio.  Clearly I could see this was not going to be an easy session.  Continue reading
