Create IN Me

imageCreate in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
~Psalm 51:10

I got up this morning and started my breakfast… coffee, cereal & hard boiled eggs. I love Sundays. Church is at 4:00 pm so I have the entire day to rest, have my breakfast, read, write, pray and worship. It is my best day and least chaotic from the Monday through Saturday madness. As God rested on the 7th day, I take that concept well too.

As I began prepping my breakfast and peeling the eggs I thought of transparency in us as individuals. I thought this one we would call, “Peeling” because no one really enjoys that part. If you don’t cook the egg well enough it is hard to peel. There is this clear layer of skin you have to catch to the shell in order to peel the entire coating off egg without breaking it. This clear part is the most sensitive to get to the inside. This is the part in us that we least desire to remove. But if we did remove this layer and become transparent then maybe it will be the best thing in order for us to discover who we really are within. Continue reading

The Shunammite

imageIn 2 Kings 4 there is a Shunammite Woman who doesn’t have the greatest story of all time. She is the “All is well” kind of gal. The one that didn’t want to get her hopes up. They don’t want to have expectations that will never be met. They are the ones that have little to nothing. The ones that really have the strongest stories ever. Continue reading

Hope Anchored In You

image“Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but when desire comes, it is a tree of life.”
Proverbs 13:12

No one wants to walk in a place where there are no choices, no solutions or places of growing ground. We hope for the best and walk towards a driven God-given goal. But when there is delay, you can easily be effected. The best solution for us is to always have our hope anchored in HimContinue reading

All The Do’s and Don’ts

imageWouldn’t it be nice if we had a sign like this on us to advise certain folks in our lives. But ours would read something like this:

“DO NO USE!
I AM OUT OF SERVICE!
God is aware of my situation and making the necessary repairs and I will be available as soon as possible. We are so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”

As the bible shares with us not to conform to the things of this world, since we have come over to Christ we are in a process of renewal. And there are plenty of “do’s and don’ts” to help us succeed in this effort. Continue reading
