imageI feel the need to NOT follow a trend. Like I have never been the person to do something just because everyone else is doing it. This is probably why I have never fit in with certain crowds. I was more of the odd ball in the batch. But I learned to find purpose by other means. A Mild Man

imageThere is this man in the bible named Jacob. For the majority of the time, if you ask someone what his name means, they will all shout the same things… “TRICKSTER! DECEIVER!” But if you read back to what the scripture defines that is NOT what his name means. The bible shows us clearly that he is Jacob – meaning, he grasps the heel; holder of the heel; sup-planter. All of which signifies government and rulers; holding the place of another as through force, scheming, strategy or to replace! Continue reading


Red Cup Thanks

imageI love this red cup at Starbucks! It is my favorite color, so I don’t care what is written on it, I just love the color in general. RED! So much to be thankful for and what that color symbolizes. When many are fussing over the most meaningless issues, let’s give thanks for so much more.

I proudly picked up my cup today on my way to celebrate 15 years of service at my job in the area of Human Resources. It has been a journey.  My husband and I also cerebrated our 2nd year as lead pastors for our church. Both humbling experiences. Every week, we find a new reason to celebrate…this is the season we are in and my red cup is running over and filled with a lot of thanks! Continue reading


For The Veteran

imageTaking the time to appreciate all those that are working diligently and faithfully for this country. They have exceptional jobs. The benefits are amazing yes, but what about the time that is invested here. They work holidays, weekends, birthdays, anniversaries, or through many life events that pass on by. But they have to do the job. They willingly signed up counting that cost. A sentence that would leave them VERY little room for just life itself. This is pure dedication and commitment.  So for the veteran…. We honor you. We celebrate you on this day. We appreciate all that you do. Continue reading
